Don's Hot Potato Salad

Don's Cheese and Sausage Mart's Hot German Potato Salad

"The following recipe makes a VERY LARGE batch of potato salad. You may want to cut the ingredients in half or more."

• 5 pounds of bacon

• 6-2/3 cup flour

• 8 cups sugar

• 6-2/3 cup vinegar

• 5 oz salt

• 2 TB pepper

• 5 quarts hot water

• 3 cups diced onions

• Cooked diced potatoes

Fry bacon until crisp. Drain. Mix flour into the bacon grease. Mix until thick paste forms. Add hot water. Add everything else. Mix over cooked diced potatoes and combine well. Serve warm with bratwursts, sauerkraut, hot mustard and garlic dills.
